We are happy to introduce the library’s first Seed Library!
Open for check outs on April 16!
What is a seed library?
A seed library is an institution that lends or shares seeds. Our goal is to allow library card holders the opportunity to “check out” seeds and try their hand at growing something for the first time, something new they haven’t tried, or an old reliable.
How does it work?
Visit our Seed Library on the upstairs floor near the Information Desk. Once there, go through our seed card catalog and find the seeds you would like to check out. If you are not checking out a whole packet, you may put the amount you are wanting in a separate packet provided. Take only what you will need or use.
How do I check out?
To check out seeds please go to the Information Desk and provide the librarian with the seeds you are checking out and your library card (must be 18+ for check out). While we understand that you won’t be bringing these seeds back, eventually we would like to see patrons save seeds or donate unused package seeds for the Seed Library.
