Kids 3-12, the more you read the more entries into the Grand Prize Drawing you earn! 

2 hours gets you 1 entry and every extra half hour of reading earns you 1 more entry! 

Enter up to 14 hours at a time! That’s up to 25 potential grand prize entries with each submission!

I Spy Find-It Challenge

The sun is shining and it’s time to get outside and get active! As a way to help you get outside, get moving, and enjoy the great outdoors, the Library is issuing a summer-themed I Spy Find-It Challenge to all families in the community. You may pick up an I Spy Challenge card at the KidSpace desk all summer long from May 30th to July 30th. If you enjoy this challenge, feel free to create your own or check out our I Spy and ‘I Spy’ style books on a special display outside of the KidSpace area.

One craft at a time per child, while supplies last. 


Mystery Crafts will appear randomly and without warning on the KidSpace 

Desk this summer! Be sure to stop by frequently for crafty surprises! 

Supplies you may or may not need at home: Crayons/Colored Pencils/Markers, 

Safety scissors, and Glue stick. Parental supervision is advised. Instructions included.

Put your driving and shell-throwing skills to the test in our Mario Kart Tournament! We will be setting up the Library’s Nintendo Switch in the Rotary Rooms so competitors can race on the big screen! Racers can bring their own controllers, but it isn’t required—the Library has Joy-Cons for players to race with!

Do you speak for the trees? Take a Lesson from the Lorax and learn how to care for the Earth. Find your voice and use it to be an advocate for nature! Join us for an educational and entertaining experience including a craft and a live animal!

Switch on a Game

  Available to play in the KidSpace area

Ages 8-17, under 8 must play under supervision of adult, caregiver, or high schooler


Stop by KidSpace and Switch on a Game on the 

Library's Nintendo Switch! Bring some friends or make some new ones here while playing games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate! Be prepared to take turns and keep the competition friendly! 


The Switch will only be available for use outside of school hours/days set by Charleston School District or during a library-sponsored program and will be shut down 30 minutes before the Library closes.
